These grants are geographically-focused on communities where RealNetworks employees live and work. In 2012, grants in this category will be focused on the following U.S. communities:
Seattle, WA (Puget Sound Region)
Reston, VA (Metro D.C.)
New York, NY
Community Enhancement grants are made in a variety of sectors (human services, education, arts & culture, climate & environment, etc.) However, during this difficult economic time, organizations that deliver (and advocate on behalf of) basic human services, including those that are focused on job creation, employment and training will be given priority. Typically, Community Enhancement Grants are for a maximum of $10,000.
The Foundation has placed its Freedom of Expression & Independent Media grants program on hold until further notice. If your organization does work in the FEIM sector, you are still able to apply for a Community Enhancement Grant if your organization serves one of the eligible communities listed in the above section.
